Johanna's Grooming Johanna's Grooming paw mark

✂ Haircuts & Styling

Every breed carries its coat differently, and Johanna cuts to that standard rather than a one-size-fits-all trim. A Poodle's cut isn't shaped the way a Shih Tzu's is, and a Schnauzer's furnishings need their own kind of attention — over 30 years, she's learned the shape each breed is supposed to hold, and she works toward it by hand, not by rushing a clipper through.

Styling is done at your dog's pace. Nervous first-timers get slower sessions, more breaks, and a lot of quiet reassurance before any scissors come out. Dogs who've been coming for years get the efficient, familiar routine they're used to. Either way, the goal is the same: a dog who leaves comfortable, not just a dog who leaves looking good.

Coat condition matters as much as the cut itself. Johanna checks for matting, sensitive spots, and skin issues before styling begins, and she'll flag anything worth mentioning — she's often the first to notice something a vet visit later confirms.

If you're not sure what style is right for your dog's breed or lifestyle, that's a normal question to bring in, not something you need to know ahead of time. Ask when you book, or ask her directly at drop-off.
