🛁 Bath & Blow Dry

A bath sounds simple until you're the one holding a squirming 70-pound dog who's decided the tub is the enemy. Johanna's handled every version of that reaction for three decades — the dogs who dive right in, the ones who need to be talked through it, and the ones who just need a firm, calm hand and a little extra time.

Water temperature, shampoo choice, and dry technique all get adjusted to the dog in front of her, not run on autopilot. Sensitive skin gets a gentler product. Heavy or double coats get dried in sections so nothing stays damp underneath, which is what actually causes the skin irritation and odor people associate with "wet dog" — it's not the water, it's what gets left behind.

This is also usually the point where Johanna spots things an owner might miss day to day: early matting, hot spots, ear issues, or a coat that's changed texture. A bath is a full hands-on check of your dog, not just a rinse.

Every full groom includes this step, but it's also available on its own for dogs who need a refresh between full sessions, or who just don't need a haircut yet.
